Wilder Lazo lives near the small township of Acevado, in the southern department of Huila, Colombia. The township of Acevado, in southernmost Huila, is just east of Pitalito, which is one of the areas that has brought fame to Colombian coffee. Wilders coffee has a distinct characteristic of fresh, sweet herbs, and this is one of the classic characteristics of this region, and one of the reasons for its outstanding complexity.

Caturra Rayado is a regional hybrid which has muted in Acevado. It's a red Caturra, which has developed an orange stripe/crown; similar to the mutation of pink bourbon, which happened in the same region and is likely due to cross-pollination. We are only just starting to hear whispers about this varietal, and we are very excited by it's potential, and it's cup profile.
